小朋友在一月中又要挑戰他的跆拳道進級試，今次試場也一如過往位於將軍澳寶琳。由於場地較細，應考學員卻非常之多，考試最終在臨近下午五時才完成。回家路上肚子有些餓，想找點東西吃，剛巧在地鐵寶琳站附近見到一間麵包店，名字頗特別 – I am .. bakery，就走去試一試吧。

My boy was having his Taekwondo promotion examination again in mid January. Same as before, the examination was hosted in a small multi-function hall in Po Lam of Tseung Kwan O. With such a large number of kids participating in various stages of the event, the examination was finally completed by 5 o’clock in the afternoon.

I felt a little bit hungry on our return and noticed a shop opposite to the Po Lam MTR Station that came with a very interesting name – I am .. bakery. Sounded great and worth a try.

店前櫥窗一邊放了多款疍糕，另一邊擠滿了各式麵包。用上”擠滿”一點也不誇張，不太大的架上擺放了至少有十多款麵包。可能出爐的麵包太多，還是銷量太 ⋯，店員竟然把麵包一層層的叠起來。 😱

On one side of the store front were several cream cakes on display, colourful but a little bit large in size. On the other side were shelves packed with a large number of breads crowded together. Not sure if they had baked too many or the sales were …, the shop keeper just stacked up all the breads in heaps. 😱

I am .. bakery 亦有傍晚優惠，一方面可減輕居民負擔，另一方面也可減少浪費，附合環保減廢的大趨勢，要給一個讚。 👍

I am .. bakery also offered discount in the evening. More attractive pricing to customers and at the same time reduced possible wastage, a good attempt in the growing trend of waste reduction. 👍

I am .. bakery 麵包款式之多也令人大開眼界：港式、台式、日式和歐式麵包，就像麵包超級市場，相信總有一款適合你。🤣

It’s hard to believe that I am .. bakery offered so many varieties of breads: Hong Kong styles, Taiwan styles, Japanese styles and even European styles, you named it and they’ve got it. Probably there is one that suits you.

想不到小小店舖還有製作這麼多款的曲奇餅。這都是典型的香港麵包店特色，物盡其用，也可能是對抗高昂租金的另一種生意模式。

Other than breads and cakes, it also has different types of butter cookies for sale. This is a common scene as found in most of the local bakeries, making full use of equipments, shop spaces and as a way to address the high rent of the shop premises.

逛了數圈後，我最終揀了一個香草軟包，而太太就選擇了蒜茸包。

After strolling around the shop, I finally picked my Olive Oil Bread with Herbs while my wife had got her Garlic Bread.

甚麼評價呢?

So how about our ratings?

香草軟包恰如其名，的確非常鬆軟，內裡的氣孔頗佳。但可能是只用上普通的白麵粉，吃起來味道較平淡，也不太感受到橄欖油或香草的應有的香氣，稍為美中不足。

Just as shown its Chinese name, the Olive Oil Bread with Herbs was absolutely soft and with an airy crumb. However, it tasted a little bit plain which I guessed that only white bread flour was used. Furthermore, I hardly got the smell of Olive oil nor herbs, something quite disappointing.

那太太的蒜茸包又如何？

Then how about the Garlic Bread?

麵包也一樣鬆軟，只是蒜茸的咸香味道略為不足。

Same as the Olive Oil Bread, it was also soft. It would taste much better if the tastes of garlic and salt could be made stronger.

個人覺得 I am .. bakery 的麵包出品，在味道上雖然仍有發揮空間，但以他相對便宜的定價，也算是誠意之作。

也許有機會我也要再嘗試他其他的麵包，看看會否有新發現。

Personally, I believed there is room for improvement for I am .. bakery, in terms of the taste of their breads.

However, with their reasonable pricing, I think they have already do a good job in serving the customers.

Probably I should try some more of their offerings in the near future to see if there are any surprise.
